① "Luminor Chrono El Primero" "Ref. PAM00122"
*Source: https://www.commit-watch.co.jp/buyer/watches/mens/panerai/luminor-17/
This model is equipped with the Cal.OP IV, which is based on the famous Zenith El Primero, but the Cal.OP IV was only manufactured for four years, from 1999 to 2003, so there are only a few of them. In addition, Zenith is now in competition with LVMH, and Panerai is now in competition with the Richemont Group, so it is highly unlikely that a Panerai model equipped with El Primero will be released in the future. The design is also unique, with a mirror-finished SS (stainless steel) bezel, a satin-finished TI (titanium) case, and a bracelet that combines both, making it an interesting design. The 40mm case size fits comfortably on the wrist, and the bracelet is recommended for its ease of use regardless of the season, but there is also a leather strap version, Ref.PAM00121, which was released at the same time, so you can choose whichever you like. By the way, this model was originally scheduled to be produced in about 1,500 units, but when Zenith was acquired by LVMH in 1999, the supply of movements was stopped, and it is not clear how many units were produced. In that respect, it is a watch with interesting future prospects.
② Radiomir "Ref. PAM00790"
*Source: https://www.commit-watch.co.jp/buyer/watches/mens/panerai/radiomir-187833/
Introducing a limited edition model of 500 pieces worldwide inspired by the Panerai Pendulum Clock. Based on the Art Deco design, this model has a retro impression with a railway chapter ring on the outer periphery of the dial and spear-shaped hour and minute hands, which are the first to be used by Panerai. The large 47mm case is made of AISI 316L polished steel, a material that is resistant to corrosion and considerate of people with metal allergies. The Ref. PAM00791, which has an ivory dial color, has also been released, but this model has a different impression, so why not look for it?
③ "Luminol Tantalium" "Ref. PAM00192"
*Source: https://www.commit-watch.co.jp/buyer/watches/mens/panerai/luminor-60/
This is a special edition released in 2004, limited to 300 pieces worldwide. The 44mm case is made of tantalum, a rare metal that is harder and more corrosion-resistant than titanium, and the crown guard unique to Panerai gives it a rugged impression. Models that use tantalum are very rare, such as the three-hand "Ref. PAM00172" with a small second hand at the 9 o'clock position. Considering the future, it may be a good idea to get a model with different characteristics from the regular model.
④ Radiomir Bronzo "Ref. PAM00760"

In recent years, various brands have released models that use bronze as the case material, but the first one that comes to mind is probably the Panerai model. This is a very cool model that gives off a vintage feel with its combination of a deep green dial and a bronze case. By the way, the bronze model is only available in the Submersible series, and includes Ref. PAM00507 (green dial, with power reserve), Ref. PAM00671 (blue dial), and Ref. PAM00968 (brown dial). This was released in 2022, but it's nice to see a bronze model released by Radiomir.
⑤ Radiomir Ororosso "Ref. PAM00522"
*Source: https://www.panerai.com/us/en/collections/special-editions-archive/2013/pam00522-radiomir-oro-rosso—47mm.html
The Radiomir Oro Rosso Ref. PAM00522 was released in 2013 as a special edition, limited to 100 pieces. Panerai usually uses smooth bezels, but this model uses a 12-sided dodecagon bezel design. Many companies use polygonal bezel designs, including Audemars Piguet's octagon, and this may be one of the reasons why this model is so popular. In addition, the Ref. PAM00521, which has a platinum case and is equipped with the Cal. OP XXVII movement based on Minerva, was also released at the same time as this model, but both models are extremely limited in circulation, so if you are interested, we recommend that you grab them as soon as you find them.
⑥ "Luminor Due Luna" "Ref. PAM01301"
*Source: https://www.panerai.com/jp/ja/collections/watch-collection/luminor-due/pam01301-luminor-due-luna.html
Panerai's dial color is often black, but this model features a rare white dial. The sub-dial features a moon design made of 24K gold, and the detailed crater design is surprisingly hand-carved by artisans. The 38mm case size fits comfortably on the wrist, and the "quick release system" allows you to change the strap without using tools, making it a model that is easy for everyone to use. In addition, the same design with a blue dial "Ref. PAM01179" and the shell dial "Ref. PAM01181" have also been announced, so if you're interested, why not take a look?
⑦ "Luminor Chrono Luna Rossa" "Ref. PAM01303"

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli is an Italian yacht team that has had a partnership with Panerai since 2019. The partnership with Panerai has been renewed in time for the start of the next America's Cup race to be held in Barcelona in 2024, and models bearing the name have been released one after another. This model features a blue dial with a sun-brushed finish that evokes the ocean, a white LUNA ROSSA logo, and a red line on a dark blue bi-material strap. The red accents used on the chronograph hands and 30-minute counter also add an accent to the design. As you may notice from the name, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, a prestigious yacht racer, is one of the businesses of the global fashion brand Prada, and has a goal of participating in the America's Cup, and has released a sporty leisure collection called Prada Sport for that purpose. The Luna Rossa has a red line, just like the Prada Sport, and the strap of the Ref. PAM01303 also has that logo. I think wearing a Panerai Luna Rossa on your wrist while wearing Prada Sport items is sporty and stylish.
8. Radiomir California, Ref. PAM00424

When introducing Panerai, the California dial, which is an important part of its history, is one of the designs that cannot be left out. The California dial is a dial that Rolex originally adopted to prevent misreading of the top and bottom, and it is said that Panerai, which did not have the know-how or equipment to manufacture watches at first, had Rolex make an original watch for them. The unique arrangement of Roman and Arabic numerals, bar-shaped hour indexes, and minute circle (railway circle) are the biggest features, and the "OP logo" at the 6 o'clock position and the crown gives a classic impression. In fact, this model was reissued and made into a regular product in 2012, but a minor change was made in 2014, and the earlier model had a date display at the 3 o'clock position. The model we are introducing is the later model with the specifications changed, but the earlier model was only produced for about two years and is now rare.
9. Luminor Left Hand "Ref. PAM00557"
*Source: https://www.panerai.com/jp/ja/collections/watch-collection/luminor/pam00557-luminor-left-handed—47mm.html
In 2022, "left-handed" watches such as the Rolex Ref. 126720VTNR and Patek Philippe Ref. 5373P-001 were announced and became a hot topic, but Panerai had already started producing them in the 1940s. It is said that the background to the creation of this watch was that, at the request of the Italian Navy, special diving units often wore instruments on their wrists and watches on their left hands, so a watch with the crown on the left side was produced to prevent the instruments from colliding with the crown. The brand's robust crown guard and sandwich dial are faithful reproductions of the models of the time, and the simple two-hand and 47mm case diameter "large thickness" have an outstanding presence. It is also a hot topic, and is recommended for left-handed people and those who want to wear a watch on their right hand for practicality.
10. Luminor Due "Ref. PAM01123"
*Source: https://www.panerai.com/jp/ja/collections/watch-collection/luminor-due/pam01123-luminor-due—38mm.html
This model, released in 2021, has a case diameter of 38mm, a stainless steel case and bracelet, and uses orthodox materials, but the sunray-like blue dial stands out against the background. Until now, the Luminor Due has only been available with a leather strap, but this is the first time it has been released as a bracelet model. The bracelet design is based on the crown protector, a major feature of Panerai, and the satin finish and polished finish are well combined to emphasize the safety lock design. In addition, the previous model had an "Automatic" display at the 6 o'clock position, but this display has been abolished, giving it a clean impression. The Luminor Due has a thin movement thickness of 4.2mm, so it is a model that we would like to recommend to those who have avoided Panerai watches because of their size.
summary
What did you think.
Panerai's unique designs are so different from other brands that there are enthusiastic fans called "Panelisti" (a collective term for Panerai fans). Among the models introduced this time, I think that the discontinued models and models with unusual materials and designs have the potential to be enjoyed in the future.
Once again, I hope this article helps you find your favorite one.
see you!
