Hello everyone.
Recently, prices of popular brands and models have been rising sharply, and there has been a notable rise in popularity of emerging brands and luxury sports models that have a certain level of popularity but also stable prices.
So, this time I would like to delve deeper into the hidden masterpiece, the IWC Ingenieur.
The Ingenieur is a wonderful model with antimagnetic features and was designed by Gerald Genta . His masterpieces, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus, are now in a price range that is difficult to afford, but the Ingenieur is still relatively affordable and is a model worth aiming for.

What is "Ingenieur"?
The Ingenieur brand, which means "engineer" in German, was developed with an emphasis on magnetic resistance and its history dates back to 1955.
During World War II, the cockpits of fighter planes were exposed to strong magnetic fields. To solve this problem, the Pilot's Watch "Mark 11" was produced for military pilots at the request of the Royal Air Force. The Ingenieur was developed for civilian use, using the Mark 11 as a model and applying its antimagnetic technology .
It adopted a revolutionary idea at the time of covering the movement with an inner case made of soft iron , and achieved the same magnetic resistance of 80,000 A/m as the Mark 11. This model was loved by people in special professions where the effects of electromagnetic waves are a concern, such as radiologists and doctors.

What did you think.
In recent years, the availability of the Gerald Genta-designed Ingenieur has been declining. The recommended models are still within reach, so if you are looking for one, it might be a good idea to buy it sooner rather than later.
In addition, Commit Ginza has increased its handling of Ingenieur, so if you have one, please feel free to contact us!
I hope that by reading this article, at least one more person will become an Ingenieur fan or an admirer of luxury watches.
see you!
