Cartier is a well-known French luxury jewelry brand founded in 1847. It is also a prestigious brand that was called " Jeweler to Kings and King of Jewelers " by King Edward VII of England, and its reputation remains unshakable today.

Cartier has been a subsidiary of the Richemont Group since 1993, and has an extensive collection of watches. In addition to jewelry, the company is also well-known as a watchmaker that produces high-quality watches, and its in-house movements are also highly regarded.

This time, we would like to introduce 8 popular and recommended models from Cartier .

① "Santos de Cartier"
"Ref.WSSA0030"

The Santos de Cartier model was born in 1904 from the friendship between Louis Cartier and Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The LM size watch features a blue dial and silver hands coated with Superluminova. The thicker hands give the watch a sportier look and improve visibility. The screws are modeled after the screws that connect the parts of an airplane's body, and they look really cool.

Like the Vacheron Constantin Overseas, which has seen a notable rise in price recently, this watch uses a quick switch that allows for easy strap replacement, so you can easily change the bracelet and leather strap depending on your mood or the season. The bracelet uses a smart link, so you can easily adjust the size. Blue dials are popular with other brands, but the blue gradation of the Santos is also very beautiful and recommended.

② "Calibre de Cartier Diver"
"Ref.W2CA0004"

The Calibre de Cartier Diver was born in 2010 and is Cartier's first diver's watch.

This model, released in 2015, features an eye-catching contrast between the black case and 18KPG (pink gold) in stainless steel with ADLC coating. It is highly functional, with an extremely precise ADLC-coated steel unidirectional rotating bezel, 300m water resistance, and Super-LumiNova luminous indexes.

In fact, it seems that production of this "Calibre de Cartier" ended around 2019, and it has disappeared from the official website and catalogs. It is possible that the market price of discontinued popular models will rise, so if you come across a good one, we recommend that you hold on to it.

3. Tank MC
"Ref. W5330001"

The Tank is Cartier's flagship and the brand's most iconic series.

Models bearing the name include the Tank Solo, Tank Américaine, Tank Louis Cartier, and Tank Anglaise, but the Tank MC we are introducing here is a collection line that was launched in 2013.

The design was inspired by tank treads after the end of World War I.

The soft pink gold case and the silver dial with beautiful guilloche engraving give it an elegant impression that is typical of Cartier. The small seconds are well-balanced on the square dial. The see-through back also allows you to see the in-house movement "Cal.1904-PS MC" developed for men.

⑤ "Drive de Cartier"
"Ref. WSNM0004"

Cartier has been creating watches with innovative shapes, and in 2016 they released the Drive de Cartier, a model with a car motif. It features a beautiful cushion-shaped case and is equipped with the in-house movement Cal.1904 MC. The Drive de Cartier also has a diverse lineup that shows how much effort Cartier puts into its watches, including a hand-wound two-hand model, a moon phase model, a retrograde model that displays a second time zone, and a tourbillon model. The case size is 40mm, making it easy to use and suitable for current tastes.

This Drive de Cartier has a bezel (case) shape reminiscent of Gerald Genta's designs, and is a watch that I personally really like. I think that if a bracelet or blue dial version were released, it would be very popular. It's the one I'm paying the most attention to in the Cartier collection right now.

⑥ "Tortu CPCP"
(Collection Privee Cartier Paris)

In 1912, Louis Cartier created a watch based on the motif of a turtle shell, and "Tortue" means "turtle" in French. "Tortue" was designed in an era when round watches were the norm, but its forward-thinking design has not faded at all to this day.

The beautifully curved Tortu case is very appealing, but it is currently discontinued. Personally, this is one collection line I would love to see reissued.

⑦ "Rotonde de Cartier Chronograph"
"Ref. W1556238"

"Rotonde de Cartier" is one of Cartier's most luxurious collection lines. The combination of a simple round case and a leather strap gives this model a classic yet sophisticated look.

This is a beautiful watch with a two-counter chronograph and Cartier's unique sword-shaped blue steel hands as an accent color. The silver sunburst dial with its radial light is also very beautiful. The case diameter is 40mm, making it easy to use, and it is elegant yet has a strong presence. It is equipped with the in-house automatic movement "Cal.1904-CHMC".

What did you think.

It seems like Cartier watches have been quietly making a comeback lately.

In particular, Cartier's current top-of-the-line (made of platinum and gold), Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP), seems to be in high demand among connoisseurs of watches.

Although we did not introduce them this time, there are many other attractive collection lines such as "Pasha", "Roadster", "Rondo", "Ballon Bleu", etc. Below is a link to the official website, so why not try looking for a watch that suits your taste?
