Extra Edition | Show us your watch "Birth Year Rolex Edition"
The popular "Watch Enthusiast Series" project focuses on the watches purchased by customers at Commit Ginza. Based on customer surveys, we introduce the occasions when the watch is worn and the reasons that led to the decision to purchase it, but among them, "birth-year Rolexes" that are "pieces manufactured in the year you were born" are extremely popular. This time, we will once again focus on enthusiasts who have purchased birth-year Rolexes and highlight their appeal. So, please watch "My Favorite Watches Special Edition - Show us your watch: Birth-year Rolex Edition" until the end.

This is a collaborative project with Commit Ginza's official YouTube channel [Commit TV]! Please check out Commit TV as well!

CHAPTER-1
NAME & WATCH
Worn by Takahiro Oto
Rolex Explorer [Ref.14270][Ref.14270]
The watch that Ooto purchased was his birth year Rolex and his first Rolex, an Explorer Ref. 14270.
Produced from the E series to the P series (from around 1991 to 2000), this is a popular classic model among semi-vintage watches that continues to reign as the ultimate in simple watches, with no date display, only black dials, and only stainless steel case materials.
This particular watch has all-tritium luminous material that is slightly burnt, and the luminous material of the second hand is closer to the tip, making it a rarer model known as a "tip dot" specification.

NAME & WATCH
Worn by KM
Rolex Explorer I [Ref.1016][Ref.1016]
The watch that KM purchased was his own birth year watch, a vintage Rolex Explorer Ref. 1016, which is filled with special meaning.
This long-selling model was manufactured from 1963 to 1989, and several detail changes were made during its 30-year production run. The model chosen this time was an R-series model, which is a later model year. There is also an E-series model, which was produced in extremely limited numbers, but the R and L-series models are popular models from years when production was nearing the end of its life.
