Whether you own a luxury watch or not, I'm sure everyone has wondered at least once, "Which models are popular?" While everyone has their own motivations, such as "I want a popular, classic model!" or "I want a model that no one else has!" , it's difficult to know which models are actually popular unless you get real-time information.

So, this time, we will be revealing the top five models from A. Lange & Söhne, one of the world's top five watch brands, that we handle at Commit Ginza (hereafter referred to as our store) for the second half of 2025! Please join us in imagining the rankings and enjoy the read.

5th place

Lange 1 "Ref. 191.039"

In fifth place is the Ref. 191.039, which was redesigned in 2015, about 20 years after the release of the Lange 1, A. Lange & Söhne's iconic watch.

While the design remains largely the same as the previous Lange 1, the movement is the Cal. L121.1, which makes extensive use of new parts produced in-house, significantly improving accuracy. Furthermore, the brand's signature "outsize date" has also been improved, changing from the previous slow date change to an instantaneous change. Packed with the latest technology and beautifully arranged in the golden ratio, this is an enchanting watch that is no exaggeration to call a work of art.

4th place

Lange 1 Time Zone "Ref. 116.032"

Coming in fourth place is the Lange 1 Time Zone (Ref. 116.032), which has a world time function that allows you to read the time at home and in a second time zone.

This watch not only features a world time function, but also a day/night display for both time zones, allowing you to distinguish between day and night at a glance, demonstrating the watch's high level of technical sophistication. The automatic movement, Cal. L031.1, which can be viewed through the see-through case back, boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours, making its performance impeccable. The design, with its 18KPG (pink gold) case and silver dial, retains the elegance of the Lange 1 while evolving from a classic to a more modern look. This is a watch we highly recommend for those looking for a slightly different model or for those who travel abroad frequently.

3rd place

Datograph "Ref. 403.035"

Coming in third place is the Datograph Ref. 403.035, a chronograph model released in 1999 .

The combination of a platinum (PT) case and a bold black dial creates a dignified finish, and its greatest feature is the chronograph movement "Cal. L951.1." Its beautiful form, visible through the skeleton case back, has been described as "the most beautiful mechanical watch," and is sure to captivate anyone. It also features a patented "Precision Jumping Minute Counter" technology, which ensures extremely high accuracy when measuring the chronograph, making it exceptionally functional. This is a supreme watch packed with stunning design and technical prowess.
( *Precision jumping minute counter: A mechanism in which the scale of the counter moves exactly at the 60-second mark. With a normal chronograph, the scale starts moving "around" 60 seconds, so when you stop the counter at exactly 60 seconds, it can be difficult to read whether the counter is moving or not. )

2nd place

Odysseus "Ref.363.179"

In second place is the Ref. 363.179 from the Odysseus series, the brand's first luxury sports model, released in 2019 .

This model features a three-piece construction consisting of a middle case, bezel, and case back, dramatically increasing its functionality and practicality by increasing water resistance to 120m from the 30m of previous models such as the Lange 1 and 1815. The dark blue dial, accented with 18K white gold hands and indexes, features a large oversized date display at 3 o'clock, making it not only stylish but also highly legible. This is the most expensive collection from A. Lange & Söhne, and it is an excellent watch in terms of design, functionality, and investment value.

1st place

Lange 1, Reference 191.032

Taking the honorable first place is the Lange 1 (Ref. 191.032), which can be said to be the face of A. Lange & Söhne.

Its main features include the adoption of the new movement "Cal. L121.1" and an updated outsize date display that allows instant switching of the date display. Not only is the asymmetrical dial layout, formed in the golden ratio, visually beautiful, but the combination of the 18KPG (pink gold) case and silver dial gives it a bold yet sophisticated impression. If you're looking for a model that expresses dignity and style, this is a watch you should definitely try.

summary

What did you think?

While A. Lange & Söhne's iconic watch, the Lange 1, was the clear winner, popular collections such as the Odysseus and Datograph also made it onto the list. Each of the brand's products has its own eye-catching individuality, making it difficult to choose a favorite, which is why they made the list without being biased towards any particular collection. When it comes to luxury watches, the best way to experience them is to see them in person. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by Commit Ginza.
