Good evening everyone.

It's November now and it's gotten cold all of a sudden, so I hope you're staying healthy. It seems like the flu season is gradually starting, so please wash your hands, gargle, and take other precautions.

Well, this time we have received the popular "Grand Complications" "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" from [Patek Philippe], so we would like to introduce it to you! The domestic regular sales price as of November 2024 has risen significantly compared to before, so we think it is a good deal! Please read to the end!

"Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" 18KRG

The new 2018 model, "Ref. 5270/1R-001," features an 18KRG (rose gold) case and bracelet and a bold ebony black sunburst dial.

The basic layout follows that of previous "Perpetual Calendar Chronograph" models, but two new small windows have been added, displaying the day/night indicator (at the 7 and 8 o'clock positions) and the leap year cycle (at the 4 and 5 o'clock positions).

Additionally, the tachymeter scale on the outer edge of the dial has a design that combines the first and second generations, and another distinctive feature is that the bottom part of the scale is cut off so as not to interfere with the large calendar that surrounds the moon phase at the 6 o'clock position.

The windows for displaying the day of the week and month are larger than those of conventional "perpetual calendar chronographs", and this is because the in-house movement "Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q" has made it possible to shift the small second (at 9 o'clock) and the 30-minute counter (at 3 o'clock) slightly toward 6 o'clock, allowing the calendar disc to be significantly larger. There is no doubt that this has improved the visibility and practicality of the watch.

The bezel has a curved design that can also be seen on the Ref. 1518 and Ref. 2499. The stepped winglet lugs are a very striking design seen on the Ref. 2499, but by changing from the leather strap of the original to a bracelet design for this model, the lugs are not emphasized as much, giving it a cleaner look.

The movement, which can be viewed through the sapphire crystal skeleton back, is the fully in-house manufactured "Cal. CH 29-535 PS Q". It is impressive that it is only 7mm thick despite being equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism. This also keeps the case thickness to 12.4mm, providing an extremely comfortable fit.

The warranty date is 2024. Other accessories are also in pristine condition. Although the bracelet has been adjusted, it is an unused item with almost no minor scratches due to storage.

The selling price is 28,600,000 yen (tax included)

summary

What did you think?

After seeing the actual watch, I was reminded once again that it is a well-designed watch, and above all, a very cool model. In my opinion, the Ref. 5270/1R-001, which was released as a new model in 2018, and the Ref. 5270P-001, which has a platinum case and golden opaline dial and is currently in stock at our store, are the best of the Ref. 5270 series. Fortunately, both watches are currently on sale at our store, so I hope you'll check them out!
