Good evening everyone.

Recently, the weather has become more comfortable, and we see many people wearing short sleeves, but at times like these, if you have a cool, beautiful model on your wrist, the way you look at others will definitely change. Today, we would like to introduce a very rare and beautiful handcrafted model that has arrived for the first time in a long time.

This is a model that you rarely see, so be sure to check it out until the end!

"Ref.5160/500G-001"
"Perpetual Calendar Moon Phase Retrograde" 18KWG

This rare model, released in 2016, is a beautiful Perpetual Calendar Moon Phase Retrograde model, Ref. 5160/500G-001, with hand-engraved engraving.

This watch, with its intricate design on the case and buckle, was inspired by pocket watches and was made by a skilled engraver using traditional tools. Although it is not a limited edition, it is not a model that is easily available at authorized dealers, and the number of units produced is extremely small, so some people may not even know of its existence.

By the way, our store has been fortunate to have handled two of these models in the past, as well as one unopened (sealed) original "Ref. 5160G-001," and each one is simply beautiful, no matter how many times you look at them.
*We have previously introduced the original "Re.5160G-001", so if you are interested, please read that article as well.

In introducing the "Ref. 5160/500G-001", I would like to compare it with the original model, the "Ref. 5160G-001".

*Left: "Ref.5160G-001" Right: "Ref.5160/500G-001"

The original "Ref.5160G-001" used Roman numerals for the dial index, giving it a more classic feel, but the "Ref.5160/500G-001" introduced this time uses Arabic numerals, giving it a softer feel. In this regard, each has its own merits and preferences are divided.

It may be a little difficult to understand, but both models also have engravings on the screw heads of the lugs and the crowns, which are made of 18KWG (white gold). If you want to replace the screws or crowns, it's scary to think about whether you can order them and how much they will cost. (laughs)

The basic engraving design on the case back is also different: the original "Ref. 5160G-001" has a "Calatrava cross" in the center of the case back, while the "Ref. 5160/500G-001" has the brand name "PATEK PHILIPPE" engraved on it. It is unclear why they chose different designs, but it may be a sign of Patek Philippe's commitment and playfulness.

The inside of the case back is polished, so you can see the splendid construction of the Cal.26-330 S QR through a mirror-like reflection. The outer periphery of the skeleton case is also engraved, and this alone is enough to captivate people with its beauty. * The original Ref.5160G-001 was in a "single shield" state with unopened vinyl, so the hunter case could not be opened.

The original "Ref.5160G-001" had the brand name "PATEK PHILIPPE" engraved in the center of the folding buckle, but the "Ref.5160/500G-001" has a simple design with only the "Calatrava cross" engraved. Some of you may have noticed that the design of the "back cover" and the "folding buckle" have been swapped.

The "Ref. 5160/500G-001" comes with a certificate in addition to the usual warranty. This shows just how special this model is.

The warranty date is 2022. The watch and its accessories are untouched and in very good condition. Furthermore, the inside of the inner box is specially designed to match the handcrafted engraving, so you will be very satisfied. This model is equipped with a "perpetual calendar" mechanism, so it also comes with a winding machine.

The selling price is 24,750,000 yen (tax included)

summary

What did you think.

The "Ref. 5160/500G-001" introduced this time has unfortunately been announced to end production in February 2024, so from now on you will only be able to find it on the secondary market. When you think of [Patek Philippe], many people think of the "Nautilus" and "Aquanaut," but there are also many rare and attractive models like this one. It is difficult to get them in stock, but we will do our best to introduce them to you as much as possible!

We hope to continue providing you with as much useful information as possible, so please look forward to the next Patek discussion!

see you!
