In 1982, the GMT-Master II was released as the successor to the original model, equipped with a new movement and improved usability. Its functionality, robustness, and instantly recognizable design have fascinated people traveling around the world.

It is equipped with the automatic movement "Cal.3186" that can drive the hour hand independently, and when used in combination with the bidirectional rotating bezel, it is possible to read up to the third time. This is a long-selling model that was produced for about 19 years (around 1988 to 2007).

It features a popular black and red bezel commonly known as "Coke" and a highly visible design with a red 24-hour hand that stands out against the black dial.
