This model was a hot topic as the world's first diver's watch equipped with a rotating bezel to measure diving time. It was developed for true professional divers who work in harsh environments.

The Ref. 16618, which appeared in 1989, followed the design of the previous model, but the movement was changed from Cal. 3035, which supports the balance with one bridge, to Cal. 3135, which uses a twin-bridge system, improving stability and maintainability. The dial comes in two color variations: blue and black.

The 18K yellow gold Submariner is truly a model worthy of being called the "King of Divers."
