Product Background

While Rolex is known for its Oyster case, perpetual movement, and automatic movement, this is a quartz model developed in the 1970s. It was also the first mechanical model to feature a sapphire crystal.

Model features

Although production of the Oysterquartz ceased in 2001, it remains extremely popular. Its edgy form and 36mm size set it apart from the standard Oyster model, making it an appealing watch.

Product design

The case diameter is 36mm. What sets it apart from the standard automatic Oyster model is its unique case, which does not have a flush fit between the lugs, and instead has a design in which the case and bracelet appear to be one piece.
