The case is made of only gold and platinum, giving it a luxurious feel. The day-of-the-week calendar function is only available on the Day-Date series, giving it a premium feel. Developed as Rolex's highest-end line, this model firmly establishes its status as a watch for presidents and successful people.

The barrel in which the main spring is stored has been completely redesigned, and the power reserve has been extended to about three days, thanks to the efficiency of the newly adopted Chronergy escapement. The in-house developed movement "Cal.3255" has obtained 14 patents and its accuracy standard is set to about twice that of the previous chronometer.

The 40mm case is 1mm smaller than the Day-Date II, released in 2015. This model is attractive for its rare meteorite dial, diamond-set bezel, white gold case, and the president bracelet, which is a sign of the highest quality line, giving it a luxurious design.
