The Ref. 19018 is a watch that can be seen as proof that Rolex was serious about developing quartz movements during the "quartz shock" of the Swiss watch industry. While other companies rushed to develop quartz movements in the 1970s and 1980s, Rolex applied its own unique technology to create "highly accurate and durable quartz movements."
