The Nautilus, Patek Philippe's signature luxury sports watch, was designed in 1976 by the genius designer Gerald Genta.

The Ref.3700 had a case size of 42mm, but the Ref.3800 is smaller at 37mm and is equipped with the automatic movement Cal.330SC. This is the second model that was released as the successor to the original Nautilus Ref.3700.

The design features a rounded octagonal bezel, a case inspired by a ship's porthole, and a black dial with applied Roman indexes.
