SOLD OUT

A Note from the Appraiser

The case and buckle show only faint micro-scratches, making it a near-mint condition item with almost no signs of wear and likely unpolished.
This is a popular early model of the original Datograph, acclaimed for having one of the most beautiful movements among mechanical watches.
With all accessories included, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find an item in such condition on the market.
Another strong selling point is that the complete service was carried out by the manufacturer in April 2026. If you are looking for one, please consider this opportunity.

*The outer box has tears and damage, and the inner box shows slight age-related deterioration.
*The genuine strap has been replaced with a short size.

Product Background

The Datograph, introduced in 1999, is a masterpiece chronograph that represents the revival of A. Lange & Söhne. Equipped with a hand-wound chronograph movement developed entirely in-house, it made a tremendous impact on the luxury watch world at the time. The Ref. 403.035F, with its weighty platinum case and black dial, is an iconic example of the original Datograph.

Model features

It is powered by the hand-wound L951.1 caliber and features a flyback function and an instantaneous outsize date. Through the sapphire case back, one can admire the intricate chronograph mechanism, including the column wheel and horizontal clutch, as well as the exquisite craftsmanship. You can enjoy the unique charm of the original Datograph, which is acclaimed for its supreme mechanism and finishing.

Product design

The 39mm platinum case is paired with a sharp black dial, creating a beautiful contrast with the silver subdials and large outsize date. The symmetrically arranged chronograph counters and the date display at 12 o'clock form a exquisite balance, achieving both sportiness and the refined elegance characteristic of German watchmaking.
