The Royal Oak Offshore was born in 1992 (announced at Baselworld in 1993), about 20 years after the Royal Oak was introduced in 1972. Based on the first Royal Oak created by Gerald Genta, the design was done by Emmanuel Guillet, a young in-house designer at the time.

The movement is equipped with a new flyback chronograph "Cal. 4401", and the black rotor can be viewed through the see-through back. This is a new model announced in 2023, the 30th anniversary of the birth of the Royal Oak Offshore.

It features a chic design with a black ceramic case and a "Mega Tapisserie" patterned dial, with yellow gold accents on the indexes, logo, hands and outer edge of the dial.
