Introduced in 2007 as a model specialized for yacht racing, it is equipped with the world's first programmable countdown function (regatta chronograph) with mechanical memory.

The movement, "Cal. 4161," is based on the "Cal. 4130" used in the Daytona and was developed over a period of four years, with an improved countdown mechanism from the previous movement, "Cal. 4160," which has been designed to be easier to maintain.

The Yacht-Master II underwent a minor change in 2017, changing the blue hour and minute hands to Benz hands. In addition, the 12 o'clock index was changed from a square to an inverted triangle, and the 6 o'clock index was changed from a square to a rectangle.
