The Patek Philippe 5040 is a classic dress watch featuring an "ellipse case" produced from the late 1980s through to the 2000s. This model is positioned as one of the company's traditional perpetual calendar models.

Automatic movement with micro rotor. This contributes to the slimming of the case. Equipped with a perpetual calendar mechanism, it can display the calendar accurately, including leap years. The beautiful finish of the movement can be viewed from the back cover (if the case back is sapphire crystal).

While classic round cases are the norm for Patek Philippe, the 5040 uses an ellipse case with soft curves. It features an elegant and unique form. The silver dial has a simple and highly visible design. The dial features a perpetual calendar sub-dial, creating a beautifully balanced design.
