When it was released in 1956, it was the world's first wristwatch to display the date and the day of the week in full. This is Rolex's top-of-the-line model, available only in rare materials such as gold and platinum.

The movement has been improved from Cal.3055 to Cal.3155, and the balance wheel has been changed from a single bridge type that supports it on one side to a twin bridge type that supports it on both sides. In the previous model, only the date could be quickly changed, but with this model, the day of the week can also be quickly changed in addition to the date, making it easier to use.

The case and bracelet are generously made of 18K white gold, which gives off a calm impression while still providing a sense of weight. The 36mm case that fits comfortably on the wrist remains the same, but the case has been changed from the previous model to a slimmer one with a thinner case, resulting in a more stylish finish.
