A Note from the Appraiser

There are fine scratches and minor scuffs from use, but the case and buckle give the impression of a solid, well-preserved piece.
The first-generation "Datograph" is a popular model, often described as the most beautiful chronograph, and is rarely seen on the market.
It features a folding buckle, comes with a warranty, and was overhauled by the manufacturer in December 2025, which is another selling point.

*There are scratches on the back of the lugs, likely from a strap change. The outer box shows some sun damage and signs of wear.
*The included strap is made by Jean Rousseau.

Product Background

The Datograph, A. Lange & Söhne's flagship chronograph, was introduced in 1999. It features an oversized date display and a flyback chronograph function with zero-reset, both developed in-house by A. Lange & Söhne.

Model features

This two-counter chronograph is equipped with the in-house hand-wound "Cal.L951.1" movement, which is said to be the most beautiful chronograph movement. You will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the movement, which can be viewed through the see-through back. It features a patented "Precision Jumping Minutes Counter" that can measure time up to 30 minutes with an accuracy of 1/5th of a second, and a minute counter that accurately jumps one mark each time the measured time exceeds 60 seconds.

Product design

The layout, with two sub-dials and a large date display forming an equilateral triangle, exudes a unique personality.
