Product Background

Near Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi in Shizukuishi Town, Iwate Prefecture, where Grand Seiko watches are made, lies one of Japan's most beautiful white birch forests. The powerful nature of these white birches, which seem to resonate with the beat of a mechanical movement, is expressed on a meticulously crafted pressed dial. This model, inspired by the beautiful white birch forest, is part of the new "Series 9" design collection.

Model features

It is equipped with the mechanical high-beat movement, Caliber 9SA4. By adopting an escapement with high transmission efficiency and a twin barrel, it achieves approximately 80 hours of power reserve when fully wound despite its 36,000 vibrations per hour high-beat, and its unique horizontal gear train structure allows for a thinner profile.

Product design

The distortion-free mirror finish created by Zaratsu polishing and the finely brushed case combine to produce a harmonious gleam. The combination of the grooved indexes, the bold, powerful hour hand, and the long, slender minute hand ensures the highest possible legibility.
