A Note from the Appraiser

The exterior has been finished at our affiliated repair workshop, and it is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches or scuffs.
The leather strap also shows little signs of use and is in relatively good condition.
Among the "Ref. 5170", the "Ref. 5170P-001" with a blue dial and diamond indexes is popular because it had a short production period and is rarely available on the market.
The selling price is also reasonable, so we especially recommend it to those who are looking for it.

Product Background

The "Ref. 5170" was released in 2010 as the successor to the two-counter chronograph model "Ref. 5070". In Patek Philippe's product classification, it is a manual-wound chronograph that is classified as a regular complication (complex) rather than a grand (super complicated) chronograph. However, its manufacturing method is the same as that of the grand complication level, which is known as a "double-set".

Model features

Equipped with the column wheel type in-house hand-wound movement "Cal. CH 29-535 PS," this rare model was discontinued in 2019 after only two years of production. A platinum model was released in 2017, and features baguette diamond indexes and a tachymeter scale on the outer edge of the dial, giving it an elegant yet sporty feel.

Product design

The indexes are set with diamonds, creating an atmosphere of elegance and luxury. The dial has a distinctive design with a gradation from blue in the center to black around the periphery.
