There are some scratches due to use, but the case lugs are thick and have sharp edges, and the president bracelet is in good condition considering its age.
The white Roman dial is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches or deterioration, and both the hands and indexes are luminous with burnt tritium.
The Ref. 18078, which features a distinctive bark finish, is becoming less common on the used market, so if you're looking for a vintage Day-Date, this is definitely one to consider.

When it was released in 1956, it was the world's first wristwatch to display the date and the day of the week in full. It is Rolex's top-of-the-line model, available only in rare materials such as gold and platinum. The bracelet that comes with it is called the "President Bracelet" after it was presented to the then US President Eisenhower.

It is equipped with Cal. 3055, a movement dedicated to day-date, which was created as an evolution of Cal. 1556.
It is equipped with a quick-change function that allows you to adjust the day of the week independently by rotating the hands backwards as the clock strikes midnight and then moving the hands forward again.

The combination of an 18K yellow gold case, white Roman dial and bark finish is extremely rare.
