Although there are some scuffs and small scratches from use, the original middle case has thick lugs and is in sturdy condition.
The dial is a replacement dial with the COMEX logo and tritium inscription, but the luminous material on both hands is Luminova. The case back is in perfect condition.
Many COMEX watches do not have the COMEX logo, but this one does. It seems that early on, replacement dials with the COMEX logo were offered.
As this particular watch comes with a certificate of authenticity from Rolex UK (England), it is believed that the dial was replaced during appraisal in 2001. At the time, around 1998-1999, there were various models that used Luminova paint with tritium markings on the dial, and it is possible that Rolex changed new or replacement tritium-marked dials to Luminova. Some enthusiasts call these dials Tritium Nova. It was subsequently overhauled by Rolex Switzerland in 2016 in the name of a relative of the owner,
It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. Of course, the original dial will cost more, but this is still an affordable COMEX/5514.
