A Note from the Appraiser

While there are fine scratches and minor scuffs from use, the case is solid and the bracelet shows almost no slack, making this an excellent example. The dial is a rare and exceptionally well-preserved walnut dial, and the luminous hands are tritium. This recommended Day-Date is an ideal collector's item, as good condition wood dials with original warranty papers are rarely seen on the market.

Product Background

Since its introduction in 1956, the Day-Date has established a reputation as Rolex's top-line watch.
This is Rolex's top-of-the-line model, available only in rare materials such as gold and platinum.
The bracelet is called the "President's Bracelet" after it was sent to the then US President Eisenhower.

Model features

The movement has been improved from Cal.3055 to Cal.3155, and stability and maintainability have been improved by adopting a twin bridge system that supports the balance on both sides instead of a single bridge system that supports the balance on one side.

Product design

The case and bracelet are made of 18K yellow gold and equipped with a special president bracelet, making this a highly luxurious watch.
