This pioneering antimagnetic wristwatch was designed to meet the demands of engineers and scientists. The name "Mille" comes from the French word for "1000," referring to its ability to withstand magnetic fields of up to 1000 gauss. This unique combination of design and chemistry makes it a model unlike any other in the world.

The internal shield is made of a ferromagnetic alloy carefully selected by Rolex, ensuring the antimagnetic properties that the Milgauss name deserves. Nearly 20 years after production ended, the Milgauss made a spectacular comeback in 2007, featuring the legendary lightning bolt hands, but was sadly discontinued in 2023.

The Ref. 116400GV is the only Rolex anniversary model to feature a green sapphire crystal. It revives the lightning bolt hands found on early Rolex Milgauss models, creating a nostalgic face for Rolex enthusiasts and a refreshing new look for modern watchmakers.
