Product Background

The Speedmaster is one of Omega's most iconic timepieces, having been carried on all six moon landing missions. Originally equipped with a manual-winding caliber, it was sold under the name Seamaster Chronograph, but was renamed Speedmaster in 1957.

Model features

This model commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 crew's first sight of the far side of the Moon in 1968. The case back is engraved with Command Module Pilot Jim Lovell's famous words, "WE'LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE," in honour of that achievement.

Product design

The yellow chronograph hands and leather strap, also accented with yellow, add a touch of character to the watch. Laser-etched to resemble lunar craters, the front side of the moon can be seen through the black skeleton dial, while the far side can be seen through the caseback.
