When it was released in 1956, it was the world's first wristwatch to display the date and the day of the week in full. It is Rolex's highest-end model, available only in rare materials such as gold and platinum. The bracelet that comes with it is called the "President Bracelet" after it was given to the then US President Eisenhower.

This model is famous as a watch worn by influential people, and the combination of a president bracelet made from carefully selected precious metals and a fluted bezel gives it an air of luxury.
