It has arrived so let me introduce it to you right away!
The Comex model is
This is a special model made by Rolex at the request of the French diving company Comex.
As proof of this special order, the "COMEX" logo is printed on the dial.
Originally it was only available to Comex divers,
The circulation is extremely small,
Currently, they are only available at overseas auctions and limited vintage shops.
This is an extremely rare model that you will not see often.
This is the improved model of Ref.5513 , "Ref.5514"
A Comex diver wearing a Ref. 5513,
Due to an accident where the windshield was blown off during work,
Rolex, upon receiving the request, began developing a wristwatch that could withstand saturation diving.
And the world's first "helium gas escape valve"
The Submariner "Ref. 5514" was born equipped with this movement.
The Ref. 5514 is a special model for which Rolex has issued a unique reference number exclusively for COMEX.
The case side is equipped with a helium escape valve at the 9 o'clock position, which is not found on the Ref. 5513.
This valve is familiar to Sea-Dwellers,
What's attractive about this timepiece is that it is housed in a case based on the Ref. 5513!
In addition to the "crown logo" on the back cover ,
The letters " ROLEX " and " COMEX " are engraved on it.
The engraving on the back cover varies depending on the era,
This is a type that does not include the payment number.
The serial number is written on the inside and is consistent.
Well then!!
This particular watch is a Ref. 5514, but the dial is not a matte one.
It has a glossy black lacquer dial.
The bezel was replaced in later years.
What a dial...
It's an exchange dial with the COMEX logo on it!
Moreover, there is a tritium marking SWISS-T<25 at the 6 o'clock position,
It has a brightly luminous dial.
Trichinova COMEX Dial.
Although it is an exchange dial,
This dial is extremely rare.
The watch comes with a certificate of authenticity from Rolex UK (United Kingdom).
The certificate was issued in 2001.
It is likely that it was replaced during an overhaul at this time.
Also, in 2016, the owner of the watch at Rolex in Switzerland
It has been overhauled and a certificate of that is included.
The original case is in very good condition.
This is a very impressive case for an item manufactured around 1974.
Aren't the edge lines of this rug foot attractive?
The bracelet is from a later date, but is still sturdy!!
Finally, a wrist shot!!
The atmosphere changes completely when the COMEX logo is added!
We hope you will take a look at it!
