The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" was manufactured from around 1960 to around 1989. This is an R-number 1016, which is a later model.
There are also E-series models which were produced in extremely limited numbers, but the R and L-series models are popular years which are nearing the end of production.
The dial is the MK5, featuring a sharp logo that matches the era.
The dial condition is very good.
The matte black dial is in perfect condition with no scratches or stains.
The luminous material is all tritium. The luminous hands are in excellent condition with no cracks.
Older models are less likely to burn, so the luminous burn is minimal.
The dial condition is attractive, but the case and bracelet are also in top condition.
Check out this middle case!!
There are some minor scratches from use, but it is in excellent condition, almost like it has not been polished.
Check out this lug shape!
The hairline and edges are well-defined and still in great, crisp condition!!
The bracelet, which matches the age, shows no signs of wear at all!!
There is still a reflector seal on the back cover!!
All accessories are included!!
Comes with box, warranty, Explorer booklet (84), Oyster booklet (87) and chronometer tag!!
The box with the reflector seal is also a big plus,
The most attractive thing about this is that it comes with a warranty and Explorer booklet.
It's rare to see an Explorer booklet with this 1016 in it.
Finally, a wrist shot!!
Excellent design!! Such a cool model!
How about those born in July 1988?
