Hello! Kaneko from Commit Ginza will introduce some recommended watches!
Today we have a rare model of the first Royal Oak!! Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Dark Grey Dial
Ref.5402ST.OO.0344ST.01 Serial.C
Accessories: Manufacturer repair card (stamped November 2016) and repair details
SOLD OUT!! The Royal Oak is a classic luxury sports watch, released in 1972.
The model that has arrived this time is the first Royal Oak "Ref. 5402ST" .
The Extra Thin model, released in 2012 as a reissue of this model, is also a rare model, but the original model is even rarer and is not often seen on the market.
This first generation jumbo model is a great example with plenty of recommended features .
Please take a look. First, look at the dial.
This is the original dial with the AP logo at the 6 o'clock position .
There are various theories, including that the logo on the final lot of C serial numbers will be at the 12 o'clock position.
Compared to the Extra-Thin, the hands and indexes are slightly thinner, giving the dial a vintage feel.
At this age, dial condition is a very important point , and this particular example has a dial in very good condition with the K18YG base dial almost invisible.
The hands have been changed to Luminova, but they blend in seamlessly with the tritium luminous material on the long bar, and the overall look is not marred. The serial number is C. This item was manufactured in the late 1970s.
Another plus point is that it comes with an original crown without the AP logo.
The caliber is the thin automatic winding Cal.2121.
The case is only 8mm thick. The buckle is original
It comes with a plain buckle.
The retro buckle that evokes a certain era is irresistible.
The best thing about this piece is its excellent condition.
Although there are some small scratches due to use, the edge lines of the case and bracelet remain beautifully intact, making this a very impressive and attractive piece! Manufactured in the late 1970s, it is extremely rare to find one that still retains this edge line.
Since this is a good piece that appears to be unpolished , we have deliberately not finished the exterior. No accessories are included, but a manufacturer's repair card is included.
The manufacturer completed an overhaul in November 2016, so the interior is also in good condition. What do you think?
The first Royal Oak "5402ST" is something that is hard to come by even in our store.
It is attractive just because it has a very beautiful dial with the logo below, but the one we have in stock this time is a rare piece with the case in excellent condition!
If you are considering the current Extra Thin, you might want to consider this one too.
