Many people probably associate vintage Submariners with stainless steel models, but
"Ref.1680/8" was introduced in 1969 as the first 18K yellow gold model.
It's a rare model that combines a sporty feel with a luxurious atmosphere,
and has a special aura among vintage Rolex watches.
With details unique to its era, such as a plastic crystal and "Fujitsubo" (barnacle) indices,
it can be said to be a model that allows you to fully enjoy the true charm of a vintage Submariner.
The Ref.1680/8 we are introducing was manufactured around 1978.
It's a remarkably sophisticated piece with an 18K yellow gold case paired with a black leather strap!
This combination gives it a calm look despite the impressive presence of solid gold!
While solid gold Submariners are strongly associated with bracelets,
leather strap specifications were also officially available at the time.
The combination with a leather strap allows you to enjoy a luxurious yet classic atmosphere, which is a unique charm of the 1680/8!
While we cannot definitively say that the individual piece introduced was originally a leather strap model,
the black leather strap matches it perfectly and looks incredibly cool!
It has a different kind of understated elegance compared to the bracelet version,
and personally, I absolutely love this vibe.

The matte black dial, applied crown logo, "Fujitsubo" indices, and gold lettering all come together to create an incredibly cool dial.
The dial condition is excellent, maintaining a clean state even under a loupe.
The tritium lume, which has aged beautifully to a cream color, also looks great!
