The Ref.1680/8, produced from around 1969 to 1979, was the first 18K yellow gold Submariner model and is truly a historical piece!!

With details unique to this era, such as the acrylic crystal and barnacle indices, it's a model where you can fully enjoy the true charm of a vintage Submariner.

The individual we are introducing this time was manufactured around 1971, relatively early in its production, and combined with its beautiful aging, it is a piece that allows you to fully appreciate the charm of the 1680/8.

The Ref.1680/8 is a rare model that is hard to come by, but the individual that has arrived this time features a rare dial where the blue color has beautifully changed to purple.

How about it?
It's rare to come across a 1680/8 purple dial that has changed so beautifully.

With a very rich wine-purple hue, it takes on a reddish tint or a deep purple depending on the light,
allowing you to enjoy various expressions depending on the viewing angle.

It's rare to find an individual that has changed so uniformly.

There is some gold discoloration at the 55-minute position on the outer edge of the dial,
but this natural aging is irresistible.

The indices of this model are also distinctive, aren't they?

"Barnacle"

The spired applied indices found on GMT-Master and Submariner watches produced from the 1960s to the 1980s.
They are commonly known as "Barnacle dials" because they resemble barnacle shells.

They are also referred to as "Nipple Dials" overseas.

The barnacle indices, which sparkle in the light, are very tasteful and appealing.

The purple change dial with the applied crown logo, barnacle indices, and gold lettering create an exquisitely cool dial.

The dial condition has only minor scratches, but it is well-maintained and in good condition.

The luminous material on the hands has been corrected, but the overall ambiance is not compromised.

The contrast between the vivid blue bezel insert and the beautifully aged wine-purple dial is stunning. It exudes a unique presence!!

The case and bracelet show signs of use, but there are no major scratches and the condition is good.

Although it has been polished a bit, the case is still solid.

The buckle clasp code is "D".
It was replaced later.

There are some inconspicuous repair marks on the back of the bracelet, but this is a relatively common point for 4-digit solid gold Submariners.

There is some slight looseness, but it fits perfectly once worn on the wrist!

Wow, it has a great look!!

Wrist shot!!
Please enjoy the beautiful purple transformation that you rarely get to see!

The first solid gold blue Submariner "Ref.1680/8, '71"
This is a rare solid gold vintage Submariner that is not often seen on the market.
The intensely purple-changed beautiful dial is tasteful and incredibly cool!
This is a superb item that you will definitely want to see in person!!

Please consider it!
