Rolex based the movement on Zenith's automatic chronograph movement [El Primero], reducing the vibrations from 36,000 VpH to 28,800 VpH and improving its durability.
This is the last chronograph model by Rolex to feature a movement from another company.
Considering this, it is indeed a highly rare model.
The model introduced today is the black dial of the solid gold model "Ref. 16528."
The K18YG solid gold Daytona is a rare model, with significantly fewer circulating compared to the stainless steel models.
The buckle is rare!!This particular piece comes with an early single buckle.
Solid gold models are rare to begin with,
but early models with this single buckle are even harder to find.
The early "debeso" buckle, with its protruding crown mark,
is a charming buckle that exudes an old-school feel.
It has an excellent presence and looks fantastic!!
This piece also features a charming early dial (MK4).
Commonly known as the "Inverted 6 Dial"
This dial, produced until around serial S (around 1993), features the "6" on the 12-hour sub-dial at the 6 o'clock position inverted to look like a "9."
While El Primero equipped Daytonas in general are gaining value, the "inverted 6" dial, including the stainless steel models, has seen a sharp increase in value recently.
The dial shows some age-related deterioration at the loupe level,
but it maintains a relatively clean condition.
The luminous material is all tritium.
The condition of the luminous material on the hands is also good.
The condition shows general signs of use scratches,
but there are no major scratches and the overall condition is good!!
The middle case is in good condition, without excessive polishing.
As you can see, the lugs are solid, making for a well-preserved case.
The buckle clasp code is "O6".
The matching single bracelet is in good condition with almost no noticeable stretch! This bracelet condition is rare.

The bezel, which is correct for its age, is also in good condition without any sagging.
