The third-generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" was manufactured from around 1959 to around 1990.
This is a vintage Explorer that underwent various specification changes during its long production period.

This arrival is an early gilt dial, which is rarely seen.
While the Ref. 1016 itself has been scarce recently, this is a rare gilt dial that we haven't had in stock for a while.

"Gilt Dial"
A glossy dial that existed on models manufactured until around 1967.
Among vintage models, its mirror-like beautiful shine is attractive, and it is a rare dial with an overwhelmingly small number of pieces.

The gold-painted logo and minute markers are also features of the gilt dial.
It's a dial with an elegant beauty that is different from current Rolex watches!
The stepped-down gold lettering looks magnificent in person.

Gilt dials often show variations in the glossiness of the dial.
Currently, it seems that many pieces have cracks and deterioration, but this particular piece has a top-level beautiful gilt dial.

The dial's gloss is also incredibly beautiful and in excellent condition!!
Although there are scratches on the crystal, the dial condition is superb!
Honestly, it's rare to come across such a beautiful gilt dial.

The luminous markers on the indexes are also maintained in top-level condition.

The hands and luminous paint on the hands show aging due to time,
but there are no noticeable cracks, which is good!

The condition shows age-appropriate signs of wear,
but the case and bracelet are solid and make a good impression.

The case is in good condition with no excessive polishing!

The lugs are also in good condition!

This rivet bracelet is essential for a gilt dial!

The buckle clasp is stamped with 66.4!

The condition of the period-correct rivet bracelet is also excellent!

The accessories include a chronometer certificate!
Although there is no warranty card, the inclusion of this certificate is a big plus!
