SOLD OUT!!
The long-selling model "Ref. 5513" was produced for approximately 27 years.
This is a popular vintage model that is also recommended as an introductory model for vintage watches.
Ref.5513 has undergone various minor changes,
There are many dial variations, making this a classic model that appeals to watch enthusiasts.
The model being offered for sale this time is an extremely rare military Submariner, and it is no exaggeration to say so.
"Military Submariner"
This rare model is a military-spec Submariner that was officially adopted by the British Navy and Army from around 1971 to around 1979 and is commonly known as the "MiliSub."
Ref.5513, Ref.5513/5517 double reference, Ref.5517
There are three references.
The MilSub is based on the Ref. 5513 to meet military specifications.
The dial markings, the shape of the hands, the special bezel, the case, etc.
This is a model with many improvements.
Since I had the chance,
Here's a quick introduction to the various special details!!
Circle T mark in the center of the dial
A mark indicating that tritium, a radioactive substance, is used in the luminous paint on the hands and indexes.
Just adding this mark changes the atmosphere.
The dial and luminous condition are excellent.
It was in excellent condition, even when viewed through a magnifying glass!
Hour , minute and second hands
The hour hand is a sword-shaped hour hand, which is quite different from the usual Mercedes-Benz hands.
The minute hand is noticeably thicker than normal.
The arrow-shaped second hand with an arrow tip is also super cool!!
The area of the luminous paint has been expanded, making it possible to see the watch even in low-visibility environments such as underwater or in the dark.
It is clear that high visibility was ensured.
The exquisite aging of the hands is amazing.
Special bezel with minute markings all around
Unlike the regular model, which measures in 1-minute increments up to the 15-minute position,
It uses a special insert with minute increments all around.
It is said that this change in specifications makes it easier to measure the elapsed time of the dive in order to carry out the mission accurately.
Like the hands, this bezel insert is also a rare part that is traded at an extremely high price on its own.
〇Middle case
Detachable spring bars are usually attached to prevent accidental removal of the spring bars.
It is secured with a steel bar instead of spring bars and comes with a NATO strap.
The lugs, which are welded to the case, are a unique feature of military models.
〇Back case
The case back is inscribed with "0552" for the Royal Navy and the NATO code for divers, "923-7697".
Broad Arrow, indicating that it was an official item issued by the British Ministry of Defence.
The procurement year and supply number are engraved on the bottom row.
All of these special details are rare features that are indispensable to any MilSub!
It was a wonderful specimen with outstanding overall condition!
The Milsub that was actually issued to the British Navy,
It was a truly cool piece with a unique presence !!
