The "Ref. 5513" is a long-selling model that was in production for about 27 years.
It underwent various minor changes,
and has a very wide variety of dial variations.
The model introduced today features an early dial among the matte non-serif dials!

"Meter First"
This is the earliest matte dial, produced from around 1967 to 1970,
when the mirror dial was replaced by a matte dial to reduce light reflection.

It is characterized by the water resistance rating at the 6 o'clock position starting with 200m,
and is commonly known as "Meter First."
All other matte dial Ref. 5513s are feet first.

This particular piece has an exceptionally good dial condition,
maintaining a clean state even under magnification.
This condition is rare for a piece manufactured around 1969.

The luminous material on the indexes has a subtle aging, creating a nice atmosphere.

The dial has a tasteful look,
with a hint of brown color.

The luminous material on the hands shows some color variation, with the minute hand being slightly darker, and a nice amount of rust has developed, making it a vintage model that allows you to enjoy its aging.

The MK3 insert has a small chip if you look closely,
but it has faded nicely and looks good!
*The luminous material on the luminous dot has been repaired.

The condition shows scratches, scuffs, and some signs of polishing on the case due to use.

As it is a vintage model, there are bound to be
scratches and thinning of the case, but surprisingly, the atmosphere is not compromised.

It is also equipped with a vintage rivet bracelet that gives it a sense of history.

The clasp is engraved 68.1.

Although there is some natural looseness,

It fits perfectly on the wrist!
The dial, with its subtle brown tint, gives it a superb atmosphere!

The highly popular vintage Submariner "Ref. 5513 / 1969 / Meter First"
is a recommended piece with a remarkably well-preserved dial.
It is surprisingly difficult to find a Meter First with such generally consistent parts.
This is a truly charming and atmospheric piece, so please come and see it for yourself!!
Overhaul has been completed at our partner workshop in January 2025.
Customers looking for a Ref. 5513 / early non-serif dial,
please consider it.
