The fourth-generation Submariner "Ref. 5513" is a long-selling model with a production period of approximately 27 years.

This model was developed around 1963 as a Diffusion model that was not chronometer certified, as opposed to the chronometer-equipped "Ref. 5512".

This model has undergone various minor changes and is extremely popular among vintage Rolexes, but the one we have in stock this time is an early production model.
It has a glossy finish known as a "mirror dial."

"Mirror Dial"

A glossy dial was available on models manufactured up until around 1967.
Among the vintage models that have a beautiful mirror-like shine,
This is a rare dial with extremely limited availability.

The stepped gold lettering and minute lines are also features of the mirror dial. It is a dial with a refined beauty that is different from current Rolexes!

"Underline"

If you look closely at this mirror dial , you will notice a thin "━" called an underline under the SUBMARINER inscription .

It is said that this dial is one of the early adopters of tritium and indicates that radioactive materials are below the prescribed standard.

It's interesting that in some cases this underline appears under the word OYSTER PERPETUAL.
