El Primero-equipped Daytona "Ref. 16520"
16520 is 200 Taki, 225 Taki, Porcelain, Step/Floating,
This is a popular model with a unique design that will appeal to enthusiasts, including 4 lines, inverted 6 dials, Patrizio, Brown Eye, and P number.
The model we are introducing this time is the Ref. 16520, one of the earliest models manufactured around 1989, and featuring an attractive bezel, dial and other features.
First, let's take a look at some of the unique features of the early model!
○MK2 bezel "225 Taki" bezel
Pay attention to the mark between "200" and "300".
After the MK3 bezel, the scale changes to "240" only,
The MK2 bezel has two markings, "225" and "250".
This is a very rare early bezel commonly known as "225 Taki".
○MK2 dial “4 lines”
The 5-line English notation has been replaced with "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED"
The original dial had four lines of text.
Like the MK1 dial, this is a rare dial that is very rarely seen.
○ "Reverse 6" dial
This is an early dial produced up to the S series, and is called the "reverse 6" or "inverted 6" because the number "6" on the 12-hour counter at the 6 o'clock position is inverted to look like a "9".
Due to the characteristics up to the S series,
MK1 dial/floating and MK2 dial/4 line will always be “inverted 6”.
○Single buckle <br data-mce-fragment="1">The single buckle is also an essential feature of early items.
The clasp code on this particular unit is "N9", which matches the year perfectly!
I get the impression that a surprising number of them are replaced in later years.
○Kamaboko case
The kamaboko case is also a feature of the early models!
Can you see that the early models have a thick case?
The kamaboko case gives off a strong, rugged impression which is very appealing.
In particular, the combination of the 225 Tachyon bezel and the 4-line dial is very special.
This is a very short production period, so you won't be able to see it very often!!
The condition is that there are scratches overall from use, but it is in good condition without excessive finishing.
The middle case is in the condition shown.
This is a sturdy case that maintains the original shape.
There are some scratches, but the lug legs are in great shape and look great!!
The rugged middle case is attractive!
The bracelet, which matches the age, is slightly wrinkled, but is in good condition.
The luminous material is all tritium.
The hands are deteriorated, but are early tritium hands.
The dial has some age-specific deterioration, such as around the center of the hands and the inner dials.
The atmosphere hasn't been compromised at all!
On the contrary, the scratches on the case give it a vintage feel that makes it look really cool.
Accessories include box, warranty card, chronometer certificate, serial tag, chronometer tag,
It comes with a booklet.
Above all, it's rare to have a warranty and serial tag included!!
Wrist shot!!
Like the floating model, it has a unique feel that only the early models can have!
That's cool!!
El Primero-equipped Daytona/Early model "Ref.16520 L3"
In the future, this will definitely become a rare model that will become less and less available!
In particular, the earliest models that come with a warranty are hard to come by even in our store!
Although there are scratches all over the piece from use, it is a good piece with a strong character and rugged impression!
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to use the original Pokemon as much as possible!
The overhaul was completed at our affiliated workshop in February 2024!
