The second generation Sea-Dweller, "Ref. 16660", appeared in 1980. This model is commonly known as the "Triple Six" because of the three "6s" in the model number.
The changes from the original Sea-Dweller "Ref. 1665" are:
○The windshield has been changed from plastic to sapphire crystal.
○By enlarging the helium gas escape valve, water resistance of 1,220m is achieved.
○The bezel has been changed to prevent reverse rotation.
○Quick date change is possible.

The model we are introducing this time is the early model "borderless" model.
Like the Submariner Ref. 5513, Ref. 16800, and GMT-Master Ref. 16750, the Ref. 16660 is divided into early and late models with either a "rimless" version with no border on the index or a "rimmed" version with a metal border.
This particular example was manufactured around 1983, so it is likely to be one of the last rimless examples.
This is a comparison photo with the Ref. 16800 with a bordered lacquer dial, and the color of the borderless matte dial is completely different.

The indexes and tritium have discolored significantly, giving this watch a vintage feel.
The dial condition is excellent!
The case is in good condition and the lugs are thick and sturdy.
The bracelet is a later grooved hard bracelet 93160.
