Submariner "Ref. 5512" manufactured from around 1959 to around 1978

This is the 4th generation Submariner, which was the first to feature a crown guard to protect the crown from impacts. From this model onwards, the case was enlarged to 40mm.
The crown is 7mm in diameter and the water resistance has been standardized to 200m.

This model has undergone various minor changes and is one of the most popular vintage Rolex models, but the one we have in stock this time is from the early production period.
This is a glossy watch with what is commonly known as a "mirror dial."

"Mirror Dial"

A glossy dial that was available on models manufactured up until around 1966.
Among the vintage models that have a beautiful mirror-like shine,
This is a rare dial with extremely limited availability.

The lowered gold lettering and minute lines are also characteristic of mirror dials.
The dial has a sophisticated beauty that is different from that of current Rolexes!

The dial is a rare non-circular 4-line mirror dial.

Since the Ref.5512 is a chronometer standard, the inscription at the 6 o'clock position on the dial reads "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED."
Its distinctive feature is the four-line notation including the chronometer notation.

What's odd is that only the chronometer notation is in silver letters.

Due to aging, the dial of this particular watch has spider web-like cracks all over it, reminiscent of the spider dials of the 1980s.

It is rare to see a dial with such cracks all over it, but
This spider-like transformation, visible through the reflection of light, is very tasteful and cool.

The luminous material is all tritium.
The index luminous material is slightly missing, but is in good condition.

The luminous hands have aged nicely and the atmosphere is outstanding.

There are some cracks, but the mirror still retains its luster.
The glossy jet black mirror looks cool no matter when you look at it!!

The bezel is a later model, but it is equipped with a fat-font MK3 insert with a strong black color, so the look is not compromised.

The condition is good with some scratches appropriate for its age, but no major scratches.

This is a model manufactured around 1966.
The middle case has a slightly polished look.

The bracelet is made with US rivets.

There is some wear appropriate for the age, but nothing that is particularly problematic.

Wrist shot!!
It has a very atmospheric glossy spider dial!!
So cool!!!
