The Portuguese Chronograph is a popular long-selling IWC model released in 1998.
With its moderate size of 40.9 mm and its elegant, understated presence, this is the most popular model in the Portuguese series.
The Portuguese Chronograph is a model that comes with a wide variety of dials.
Personally, I am interested in the original IW371411 with a panda dial and the IW371464, which was revived in 2007 as a limited edition of 200 pieces in Japan, but the Boris Becker limited edition model we are introducing this time also comes highly recommended as it has a lovely deep green dial . Boris Becker is a former professional tennis player from the former West Germany who first won Wimbledon in 1985 at the age of 17 years and 7 months, the youngest ever at the tournament, and then won again the following year in 1986, achieving two consecutive victories and becoming a star player who built the golden age of German tennis. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of his first victory, a limited edition of 250 pieces was released in 2005, and this green dial Portuguese Chronograph is one of them.
The green of the dial and leather strap is said to be a reference to the green of the Wimbledon grass. The case back is a special edition engraved with an image of him winning the tournament in 1985, at the age of 17 years and 7 months, the youngest ever winner.
The side of the case is engraved with a limited edition serial number of 250 pieces.
The limited edition of 250 pieces makes this a rare and rare model, even among limited edition models. The buckle is a pin buckle.
The Portuguese Chronograph underwent a minor change in 2011, changing from a pin buckle to a more practical folding buckle. As for the condition, there are slight scratches on the anti-reflective coating on the glass, and the genuine leather strap shows some signs of use, but the case is in very good condition and the watch makes an overall good impression.
As it is a limited edition model, the accessories are different from the regular model, including a special large box and Boris Becker's autobiography book.
A limited edition Boris Becker model with an attractive deep green dial.
The actual dial is even more beautiful than it appears in the photo, I would like you to take a look at it.
This is a rare item limited to 250 units worldwide, and there are still few of them available on the second-hand market , but this particular model comes with all the accessories so we highly recommend it!
If you are looking for an elegant and stylish vertical chronograph that is different from others, please consider this one.
