"Mirror Dial"
A glossy dial was available on models manufactured up until around 1967.
Among the vintage models that have a beautiful mirror-like shine,
This is a rare dial with extremely limited availability.
Although the dial as a whole has some age-specific deterioration,
It still has a glossy look and is an attractive piece.
The Ref. 5512 has a variety of dial variations.
This particular model is believed to be one of the earliest mirror dials without a circle, making it a rare dial that is rarely seen.
Furthermore, if you look closely at this individual, you will see that under the OYSTR PERPETUAL notation
There is a thin "━" called an underline .
It is said that this dial is one of the early adopters of tritium and indicates that radioactive materials are below the prescribed standard.
The luminous material is all tritium.
There is some loss of index luminous material,
The condition is good.
Even so,
The underlined dial of the Ref.5512 is very rare!
It is a chronometer and the marking at the 6 o'clock position is
Proof that it is a COSC-certified chronometer
It consists of four lines : "200m=660ft / SUBMARINER / SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER / OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" .
The bottom two lines are in silver text.
This dial is also known as "gilt and silver" .
The combination of gold and silver is incredibly cool, so be sure to come and see it for yourself!!
The bezel insert is long 5 and has an exquisite fade.
The bezel insert alone is worth it!!
The condition is of course age-appropriate scratches,
The overall condition is very good.
What do you think?
This thick middle case.
The lug legs are thick and impressive.
The edge lines are also clearly defined!!
The pointed crown guard (PCG) case also has a certain charm.
The Swiss rivets from 3rd period '64 are in good condition.
It's in great condition with very little creasing!!
Finally, a wrist shot!!
Enjoy this super cool mirror!!
The underlined 5512 mirror is rare!!
