The first-generation Sea-Dweller, "Ref. 1665"
This model was born in 1967 in collaboration with the diving research company COMEX!
Among them, models with "SEA-DWELLER" and "SUBMARINER 2000" printed in red, which are found in early models, are commonly known as Red Sea-Dwellers.

The Red Sea-Dweller was produced for approximately 10 years until around 1977, but it is a rare model that is significantly less common than the Red Submariner.

Including the prototype model MK0, the Red Sea-Dweller is classified into 5 types up to MK4.
The individual introduced this time is an MK4, which is the final dial of the Red Sea-Dweller.
The MK4 is characterized by slightly faded printing and a large crown & ROLEX logo.

The case back features a "round logo" and the serial number is engraved on the inside.
MK4 dials exist with two types of case back: a straight logo and a round logo, but this individual is a 52-series serial number, the final individual, so it has a round logo.

Although there is a small peeling spot at the 6 o'clock position on the dial,
the rest of the dial condition is excellent,
and the hands, indexes, and tritium lume have a strong patina, making it a wonderful piece!

Here's a comparison with Dr. Ito's beloved watch, the DRSD/MK4 (right)!!
Dr. Ito's watch also has a beautiful cream patina,
can you see how strong the patina is on this piece??

The bezel insert/MK3 has some scratches,
but combined with the aged dial, it creates a great vintage atmosphere.
*The luminous point is Luminova.

The case and bracelet have usage scratches commensurate with their age.

The mid-case has not been excessively polished,
and it is a solid case that retains the rugged form unique to the Ref. 1665!

The slightly later 93150/hard bracelet has some signs of use, but

the bracelet has only slight stretch and is relatively solid!

Wrist shot!!
It has a great face!
This piece has a wonderful atmosphere that truly says "vintage"!

Vintage Red Sea-Dweller "Ref. 1665/MK4"
