The first Submariner Date/Ref.1680.
This was manufactured from 1969 to 1975.
This is the early model with the SUBMARINER logo in red, commonly known as the "Red Sub."
This one has a great face!!
It is truly a perfect aging.
MK3/Grey fade bezel is an incredibly cool piece!!
The dial is MARK4.
The horizontal bars of the "f" and "t" in the waterproof rating of 660ft are not on the same line.
The dial features an open 6.
The MK4 dial is one of the most common red sub dials,
It seems like there's been less stock coming in recently.
If you look closely, you'll see that the Submariner markings are painted in red over white.
The dial features a distinctive "punch-flap" red font .
The dial is in excellent condition!
The hands have been replaced in later years, but are tritium hands and are in excellent condition.
The condition is overall there are small scratches from use,
There are no major scratches and the condition is good!!
The middle case is relatively thick and sturdy!
I can't feel the case getting thinner!
A winding bracelet is also an essential feature for models of this era!
Although the consistency of FF is slightly off,
The clasp is stamped with the 1st period 1972 stamp and is within a very small margin of error.
Although there is some wear and tear, it is in good condition for a vintage model!
*There is no 9315 stamp on the bracelet.
Overall, this is a recommended red Submariner in good condition!!
Wrist shot!!
You have a great look on your face!!
This is a wonderful piece with a beautifully faded MK3 bezel and a dial in good condition!
A very popular vintage model! The Red Submariner "Ref.1680/MK4"
This is an attractive red Submariner that allows you to enjoy the aging that only a vintage watch can offer!
Anyway, it's a great looking vintage model, so please take a look!
The overhaul was completed at our affiliated workshop in September 2023.
If you are looking for a red Submariner, please consider this one.
