No. 1344 - The charm of the weathered dial! Introducing the super cool 50s mirror 2nd generation Explorer 6610!

Today we have a vintage Explorer from the 1950s!!

The second generation Explorer "Ref. 6610" that appeared around 1955. Compared to the third generation Ref. 1016 (especially the later model) , this 1950s Explorer has a clearly different feel as a vintage model!
The basic design is the same as the first model, "Ref. 6350", but the movement has been updated from the previous caliber "Cal. A296", which could only wind the mainspring in one direction when the rotor rotated, to the bidirectional winding caliber Cal. 1030.
The back cover has also been changed from a thick one to a flat type.

A distinctive feature of mirror dials from the 1950s is that many of them have aged to a matte finish overall, due in part to the influence of radium luminescence.

This particular watch also shows signs of mature aging across the entire dial, and the mirror dial has lost its luster, but there are no noticeable unevenness and the dial is in good condition.

The second hand is not a big dot, but the condition of the index and luminous hands are good, and the balance is also good!!

It has a great look!! The 50's vintage model has a great feel!!

There are some scratches from use appropriate for the age, but there are no major scratches and the overall condition is good.

The middle case has a polished look appropriate for its age.

The bracelet is a later model, but it is still equipped with a rivet bracelet.

The buckle clasp is stamped 4th period '63.

There is some creasing, but that's part of the charm of vintage models!
