We have the second generation Explorer II Ref. 16550 in stock, manufactured from around 1984 to 1988! It was a short-lived model with a production period of only a few years. The Ref. 16550 is similar in design to the Ref. 16570, but features a large, angular bezel. I'm sure there are many people who like this bezel with a strong retro feel.
The dial colors for the "Ref. 16550" are black, ivory, and white, but the one we have in stock this time is the ivory dial, which is said to be the rarest of all.
The particular piece we are introducing has a strong color and a beautiful ivory dial.
The edges of the luminous index and the metal frame of the hands are silver. The Ivory Explorer II's appearance changes depending on how the luminous index burns, but this particular model has tritium that is slightly darker than the color of the dial, giving it a nice look.
Furthermore, the chronometer notation is a dial called a
"center split", which means that the space between the letters "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER" on the top line and "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" on the bottom line is aligned on the top and bottom. The luminous material is all tritium. The luminous hands are in good condition with no cracks!! The dial also has no noticeable scratches when viewed with a magnifying glass, so it is in excellent condition.
