The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1989
This is a later model equipped with Cal. 1570 with hack function.
The model year is a high-year R number.
There is also the E series, which is produced in extremely limited numbers.
The R and L numbers are popular model years that are nearing the end of production.
The dial is the latest
"Type 5" model .
The best thing about this particular model is the excellent condition of the dial!
The matte black dial is in excellent condition.
The hands and indexes have changed to a beautiful cream color.
