The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1959 to around 1989
The Vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes over its long production period.
This vintage model is popular for its superb dial design and exquisite 36mm size.

The item we have in stock this time was manufactured around 1974.
It's a dial that matches the era and features a sharp logo.

This particular watch is a pumpkin model with strong burn marks on the hands and indexes.
This is a piece with a wonderful vintage feel!
The dial and luminous condition are also in excellent condition.

This is a comparison shot with Commit staff member/Arimura Dai's favorite camera, Ref. 1016/R number (right).
When compared like this, the color of the tritium luminous material is completely different.
It's interesting to see how different the tanning process is depending on the era and the individual piece, even with the same Ref. 1016.
Incidentally, Dai-chan's Ref. 1016 actually has the same birthday as him!
Is that even possible?! It's such an interesting story.
