This time, it is Dr. ITO's favorite model!!

Today we will introduce the favorite machine of Commit's handsome appraiser, Dr. Ito!
I'm sure you all already know a lot about Dr. Ito, but he is a mecha nerd with an impressive career as a repair technician for 21 years .
He is a kind person whose hobby is insect collecting and who has a deep love for insects.
This doctor is a vintage lover!
I love using such wonderful models.

Yes!! It is an Explorer "Ref.1016".
This is a vintage Explorer manufactured from around 1960 to around 1989.

The Vintage Explorer has undergone various specification changes over its long production period, but Dr. Ito's favorite instrument was manufactured around 1978.

The dial that matches this era is a rare dial also known as a "Type 3 dial" or "tall crown", characterized by a vertical crown mark!
Even among the Ref.1016/matte dials, this is one that is quite hard to find!
By the way, perhaps influenced by Mr. Abe, the Doctor has recently developed a tendency to abbreviate things, and calls a tall crown "Torkura."
Also, this MK3 dial, which has a slightly misaligned space between the chronometer notation, "SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER" on the top line and "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" on the bottom line, is called a semi-center split / "semi-split"!
This cool-looking doctor also has a playful side.

By the way, the tritium burn on the Doctor's dial is very strong.
It seems that many MK3 dials are burnt, but it is rare to find one that is burnt to this extent.
This is a truly magnificent pumpkin dial!!
The dial condition is also excellent.

The dial is nice, but the case is also nice, which is surprising.

It's rare to see such a sharp case on a vintage model from the 70s. It's really cool.
The original bracelet is still in storage, but the watch is now fitted with a later 78360 bracelet.
