The third generation Explorer "Ref. 1016" manufactured from around 1960 to around 1989
This is an R-number 1016, a later model year.
1016 has been very active again recently at our store!
Before I knew it, the stock of over 10 bottles had dwindled to just a few.
It seems that everyone is attracted to this simple, timeless and excellent design.
Now then!! Here's this one.
The dial is an MK5 that matches the era!
This is the final dial manufactured between 1986 and 1990.
A well-balanced and popular dial!
The luminous material is all tritium.
The impression I get is that the "5-type dial" is mostly white with no luminous marks,
The tritium luminous material on this watch has changed slightly to a cream color.
The luminous hands are in excellent condition with no cracks.
Isn't this even browning the ideal way to change things?
The condition of the dial and indexes is also in good condition.
Even so, this one has a really nice face!!
The condition is good, with some scratches from use, but no noticeable scratches.
This is a very impressive specimen!!
The middle case in particular is in excellent condition!!
The hairline on the rug feet is beautiful and the edge lines are well defined!

The single bracelet is also perfectly matched for the era!
The bracelet is sturdy and has very little crease!!

I still have the details of when it was purchased at a shop in Hong Kong.
The outer box comes with a reflector seal!
I'm happy that it comes with a punched guarantee and serial tag.
If you look hard enough, you can still find a 1016 with a guarantee attached,
